SURGERY

GCH Surgery In December 2007, Bucyrus Community Hospital began performing all surgeries in a new state-of-the-art surgery center.

Med-Surg (Inpatient Stay Unit)
Patients requiring a hospital stay may be placed on our med-surg unit for necessary treatments and close monitoring. Our med-surg area has private rooms for pre and post-operative services as well as acute care needs. Our staff provides compassionate care to any age group from pediatrics to geriatrics.

Intensive Care
The Intensive Care unit has private, state-of-the-art patient rooms that are spacious enough to provide the treatment necessary for patient recovery. We are fully equipped with cardiac and non-invasive monitoring equipment. Our staff is qualified and trained in the care and management of critically ill or injured patients.

Surgery
The Surgery Department consists of fully quipped operating rooms and two endoscopy suites, which allow our surgeons to perform laparoscopic and endoscopic procedures, providing our patients with shorter surgery and recovery times. Each room has up-to-date monitoring equipment providing patients with a safe and comfortable surgical experience.

MEDICATIONS
Please bring a list of medications you are currently taking, along with the dosage and schedule. This will assist your healtcare team in planing your care. If you should bring medication with you that is not needed and cannot be sent home, please give it to the nurse for safe keeping during your stay.

PERSONAL CARE ITEMS
Items that you need for your own personal care should be brought in from home when possible. If you do not have needed items, pleas ask your nurse.
