The BCH Auxiliary is truly a part of the hospital team and subscribes to the Mission, Vision, and Values of BCH.A The BCH Auxiliary supports the hospital through volunteer service and community relations, as well as fund raising.
The open hands and caring hearts of our volunteers provide an invaluable service to our patients and their families, as well as the staff.A Volunteers may choose an area of service and/or times best suited to their talents and schedule. Placement is based on skills and interests of the volunteer, as well as hospital needs.
At Bucyrus Community Hospital, volunteers give back to the community and make a difference by giving thousands of hours of service each year in many different ways:
Meet and greet all individuals entering the hospital, distribute visitor cards, escort patients to various departments in the hospital.
Direct patients to Surgery Department and offer help and assistance to family and friends in the waiting area.
Sell items to BCH visitors. All proceeds from the gift shop are donated to BCH.
Volunteers sort and deliver mail to various departments within the hospital.
Students 13-years-of-age or older may volunteer in the Dietary Department preparing and delivering patient meal trays, as well as other kitchen duties. Students may also volunteer at the front desk as a receptionist for the hospital.
