We understand that no one looks forward to a stay in the hospital. That's why, at Bucyrus Community Hospital, we take care to ensure that every patient's needs are met. Before your stay, we recommend that you take a minute or two to look through the services we provide to patients and visitors. During your stay, do not hesitate to ask any member of our medical staff to help you make your stay with us as comfortable as possible.
We are required by law to report any case of suspected abuse. If you are a victim of domestic abuse and are ready to seek help, please let a nurse know.
Area clergy visit the hospital often. should you desire a visit from your own clergy person, or the on call clergy, please advise the nurse.
All employees wear an identification badge that includes their name, picture, and department. Caregivers will identify themselves and tell you what they are going to do before they give care or treatment. DO NOT hesitate to ask them who they are or what they are doing.
The hospital cannot be responsible for personal articles such as glasses, jewelry, wallets, radios, money, etc. If you bring these items with you and cannot send them home, talk to your nurse. Arrangements will be made to secure them.
Visitors are expected to confine their visits to the posted visiting hours. If you, or your family, have special needs or time constraints, please discuss them with your nurse.
The gift of love.
More and more scientists are discovering the power that a healthy attitude plays in healing the body. And nothing can raise a patient's spirits quite like a gift from a loved one. That's why the Bucyrus Community Hospital gift shop carries a wide variety of brand names like Baldwin, Brass, Ty stuffed animals, and Rose jewelry. We have a number of gifts, books, cards, and candy from which to choose, not to mention flower arrangements, that we design ourselves. We even do custom orders. When you give a gift, you're giving the gift of healing.
For your convenience, telephone service is provided in each patient room. You must dial "8" to get an outside line, then dial your 10 digit number for local calls. To avoid disturbing patients, we discourage calls after visiting hours.
Although no visitor phones are available at BCH, if you need to make a phone call, please speak with a hospital employee and they will be happy to assist you.
For patient enjoyment, televisions are provided in each room. There is no charge. It is requested that the volume be kept low so as not to disturb other patients.
The hospital cafeteria, located on the first floor, is open as a convenience to family members, visitors and guests. There are also vending machines located on the first floor, near the waiting areas for use at any time.
